Social Media Marketing
In regards to social media marketing I have worked as both an advisory for individuals who run their own social media accounts for their small businesses, as well as a social media officer for a hospitality business where I also worked as a manager.
The Roundbush Pub
The Roundbush Pub is a small but busy countryside pub in Aldenham. Although most customers are older people who don't tend to use social media, I thought it was important to have an online presence for those who do!

Whilst working at The Roundbush Pub as a manager, I also ran the Instagram and helped the owner of the pub with Facebook from November 2019 until beginning of March 2020 when we unfortunately had to close due to Covid-19.
A previous staff member was running the pub's social media until they left. The accounts weren't active for a short period until I asked the owner if I could take over, which they agreed to. The reach and engagement of the posts on Instagram was rather low, with the norm being less than 10 likes on a post (as shown to the right).
During the short time I ran the instagram I managed to slowly increase this (as shown above) by using higher quality pictures and by utilising Instagram insights and analysing competitors posts to ensure I was posting at the right times and using effective hashtags.
I also created Instagram Highlights to add our stories to such as re-posted reviews, event and food pictures/videos (shown below).

Below are two examples of posts by me promoting our Valentine's Day deal which many customers who booked for that day said they had seen advertised online.
Although Facebook was not utilised as much as Instagram, it was still used to showcase the food and promote deals and events, such as our monthly quiz night.

Dapur Mariae.
Although the owners of the business wanted to continue running the social media accounts themselves, I advised them on types of posts, hashtags to use and how to use Facebook and Instagram Insights. They were then able to see which posts were doing well and what time was best to post. I also advised utilising Instagrams story and highlight feature which they have, and use user generated content such as reposting good reviews, as I understand many consumers nowadays trust other customers views more than a company's. They also used some ideas from the calendar created for my university work (see below).
Example of a hypothetical
social media content calendar.
During my digital marketing degree, we had to create hypothetical social media content calendars for the business we were doing our final project on. You can view a PDF of this by clicking on the paperclip to the right.
I chose Dapur Mariae, and once my degree was finished even though (as mentioned above) they wanted to continue the social media side of things themselves, they found this calendar helpful and took inspiration from it. However I did some work for them after university which mainly focused on helping with their website and content marketing.
